31 Oct 2017

Hello M’Lady confirmed her fitness for Saturday’s Feilding Gold Cup with an impressive gallop at Matamata this morning.

On a the course proper, where the going was dead 25 metres out, raceday jockey Cameron Lammas took Hello M’Lady for a solid hitout over ground and was timed from the 1200m in 1:20.2, with the last 1000m in 1:06.2 and 600m in 39.3.

The Vicki Prendergast-trained mare had little go her way in her last start when fourth in the Jakkalberry Classic at Rotorua, but she appears to have trained on well for Saturday’s Awapuni feature.

Chance To Dance (Bosson), who had no favours when unplaced in the Livamol Classic, looked ready to bounce back when paired with Fashionably (Lammas) over 1000m in 1:10.8 and 600m in 41.2. Chance To Dance runs next in the OMF Stakes at Ellerslie next Tuesday.

Makarios (Satyajeed) was keen in the early stages of solo work over 1000m and kept up his momentum to clock 1:04.2 and the final 600m in 39. Stablemate Ruby Armani (McGee) also worked well in preparation for Tauranga on Saturday as she cut out 1000m in 1:07.3 and 38.6.

Awapuni entry Ocean Emperor (Fawcett) was accompanied by Temple Tiger (Rika) over 1000m in a tidy 1:08 and 39.3, while Vinevale (Bosson) and Lucy Wyldstyle (Lammas) were well held over the same ground in  1:10.8 and 41.2, as was Arraignment (Dowling) in 1:13.7 and 42.4.

Mongolianconqueror (McNab) and Zambezi Warrior (Tong) had more pace on in their 1000m hitout, recording 1:08.4 and 40.8. Tauranga sprint candidate Splurge (Bosson) completed 1000m in 1:09.8 and 39.9, while Aquilo (McNab) and Icebomb (Pinn) took 1:08 and 39.7.

Goboniego (Collett) and a Swiss Ace gelding (Tierney) worked well over 1000m in 1:08.6 and 40. Ellerslie entry Hushed (McNab) was timed over his last 1000m in 1:22.8, 1:08.5 and 40.8, and Piazza (S Weatherley) was well held over ground for a final 1200m in 1:27.6 and 42.

Aero De Paris (Coleman) and Spring Heat (Osborne), last start maiden placegetters heading to Ellerslie next week, were well held over 1000m in 1:14.8 and 43.1.

On the all-weather track Watch This Space (W Hillis) and Nothing Trivial (Roff) were paired in sick work over 1000m in 1:00.6 and 35.8. Watch This Space runs at Tauranga on Saturday and his stablemate heads to Ellerslie on Tuesday.

Galaxy Miss (Dowling), a likely rival for Watch This Space, was strong at the completion of 1000m in 1:03.8 and 37.5. Another to catch the eye over 1000m was Sally Lunn (Preston), who stopped the clock at 1:00.5 and 36.2. I’m Bronson (Burdan) was timed over his last 800m in 49.2 and 36.8.

On the sand Feilding Cup entry Wildflower (Roff) went with Contessa Belle (Handley) over ground, striding in from the 1200m in 1:23.4 and 600m in 40. The Richardson/Parker-trained mare has trained on well from her Jakkalberry Classic win.

Last-start winners She’s Prismatic (J Price) and Hay Tiger (R Jones) looked ready for more good form at Tauranga when paired over an impressive 1000m in 1:03.2 and 36.4.
