Hello M’Lady looked ready to continue her run of form on the weekend when she galloped stylishly at Matamata this morning.
Working on the sand, Hello M’Lady (Lammas) was partnered by Our King Sway (A Jones) over 1000m in 1:03.9, quickening for a smart final 600m in 36.3.
Hello M’Lady has delivered on her early promise with wins at her last two starts and will chase a hat-trick at New Plymouth on Saturday. Our King Sway is making good progress for a return to racing, most likely at Hastings next week.
Snapshot (Weatherley) and Arraignment (Dowling) underlined their progress with a solid 1000m workout in 1:03 and 36.6. Over the same ground Panella (Grant) and Miss Elegante (A Jones) returned 1:08.5 and 37.8, while Sure He Can (Roff) took 1:11 and 39.6.
Letmeby (Roff) and Don’t Lie To Me (Gorham) strode over ground and were timed from the 1200m in 1:21.2, 1:06.5 and 39.7. Secret Stash (Singh) and Pure Lorde (Khan) worked in from the 800m in 49.5 and 37, and Irish Moon (Coleman) ran his 800m in 57.4 and 42.2.
In easy work over 1000m, Sasanof’s Hero (P Turner) took 1:13.8 and 43.2, Contessa Belle (Roff) 1:11.2 and 40.4, and Fame Seeker (Singh) 1:14.2 and 43.5.
On the heavy course proper, where work took place right-handed 20 metres out, New Plymouth runner Ocean Emperor (Miles) caught the eye when he and Roll The Gold (Fawcett) cut out their final 600m in 40.2.
Ellerslie entries That’s How It Goes (Miles) and Old Countess (P Brosnan) strode over 1200m in 1:29.2 and 42.2, while Flying Master (P Turner) did well to cover his last 600m in 39.7 and Sarabande (J Collett) and a Pins gelding (Fawcett) took 43.5.
Tarzino Trophy favourite Volpe Veloce (Coleman) appeared to be in a good space as she did striding work, finishing off with a final 600m in 42.2.
On the all-weather track Taranaki Interprovincial Challenge candidate Stokers Rock (S Collett) was in good form over 1000m in 1:03.4 and 37.
Over the same distance, Watch This Space (W Hillis) wasted no time when recording 1:03.8 and 36.4, while La Mia Stella (Coleman) and Short Fuse (S Collett) took 1:05.1 and 36.5.
Clarify (S Collett) was timed over 1000m in 1:07.3 and 38.2. Amarula (S Collett), who will run over 1600 metres at Hastings next week if he misses a start in the Tarzino Trophy, completed his work with 600m in 38.3.
