Matamata Trackwork Tuesday 23 May 2017: Recorded by Dennis Ryan
23 May 2017

Sleeping Beauty and Miss Foxy Gal signalled their weekend prospects with an impressive gallop during a quiet training session at Matamata this morning.

Working 20 metres out on a slow course proper with heavy frost on the ground, Sleeping Beauty (C Grylls) and Miss Foxy Gal (Coleman) were paired over a strong 1000m in 1:07.2, finishing off with 600m in 38.8.

Sleeping Beauty looks an improver from her recent first-up run, while fellow Ellerslie entry Miss Foxy Gal has freshened well from her last-start stakes fourth and will line up in the Great Northern Foal Stakes on Saturday.

Sound Works (Coleman) hit the line full of running at the end of 1000m in 1:08.8 and 39.5. The Not A Single Doubt mare is a recent recruit from Ballymore’s Melbourne stable and judging by her work she has prospects in Rating 65 grade at Ellerslie on the weekend.

Tiptronic (Tynan) underlined his Ellerslie chances when he worked with All Razzle Dazzle (Gorham) over 1200m in 1:22.5, 1:08.5 and 41.4. Silverdale (Pinn) and Lucy Wyldstyle (McNab) hit out well together over 1000m in 1:09.2 and 40. Silverdale heads to Ellerslie, while his stablemate will run at Hawera on Sunday.

Makarios (R Jones) wasn’t extended over 1000m in 1:10.8 and 40.6, and New Crown (J Collett) was well contained over the same ground in 1:16 and 43.2.
